Sunday Gatherings
Gathering together is a big part of our weekly rhythm. It’s a time where we can share life together and publicly give thanks for what we have been giving. It’s also a place where we can remind ourselves of the great love in which we share. Those who gather share in a commitment to a common purpose. We hope you’ll join us.
SAAM meets on Sunday morning at 10:30 A.M. Our gatherings are designed to engage people spiritually with the love of Jesus Christ.
As a church community, we ask ourselves, “What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus, revealing the kingdom of God to the world around us?” The question leads us not to a single answer, but rather our collective discoveries are pieces of a mosaic that reflects the complexity and mystery of the kingdom of God.
As a church we decide to focus on returning to some of the the practices of the first century church, which hopefully will help us foster deeper and more intentional participation. With most church models practiced on Sundays, the entire community learns from primarily one person. We wanted to experiment shifting that model to learning from not only the pastor, but also from each other. As such we began a rhythm of alternating a liturgical service with a sevice consisting of a short teaching time time followed by a shared meal. During this meal we discuss the sermon in smaller groups around our tables to share how we are applying what we are learning in our lives. We believed that this practice on Sundays will allow us to function more wholly as the body of Christ.
