Formation
During the week we gather in small groups to wrestle with what it means to be a disciple of Jesus – what it means to live with Him and be like Him in today’s world. We share life together – joys, struggles, everyday journeys – all the while encouraging and tangibly caring for each other. We aim to allow God to transform our hearts and entire being – from the inside out so that we will become people who, not by” gritted teeth effort”, but naturally are “living as children of light, alive in the power of God simply learning to do all that Jesus said to do.” [Dallas Willard, Renovation of the Heart, 2002]
Our formation groups will be starting up again the first week of October. These groups are great places to go deeper in your spiritual journey and in getting to know others here at SAAM. The rhythm of the groups will be to meet for a period of 7-8 weeks then take a few weeks off then meet again for another 7-8 week cycle- this rhythm will continue for the year. There will be groups on Sunday morning at 9am at the church and Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the Pocket area and in Clarksburg at 6:30pm. If you want to know more about our formation groups, we would love to talk with you – please contact Barbara (Babs) May-Clark at the church office at 916-454-3600.
